Today is Thanksgiving… a traditional holiday in the United States involving the gathering of friends and family, and the ceremonial roasting/frying of a large turkey; once described by Benjamin Franklin as “a Bird of Courage, [which] would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on.” Also, interestingly, Franklin did not, in fact, propose the turkey over the bald eagle for the national bird, but I digress.
Thanksgiving is also a day for giving thanks and appreciating your blessings. I will not list my personal blessings, but I will share that I am thankful that the work I do is in support of community growth and local economies. I am blessed to work with smart people across the country who are pushing forward, often in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, to deliver services to those who need.
I am thankful to all of you for the work that you do.
From all of us here at Utility LINE… Happy Thanksgiving!
