Broadband Communities Magazine published my article “DIY Fiber Estimating” in the November/December 2016 issue. This article breaks down a variety of methods for producing cost estimates for fiber routes. The goal of the article is to help community broadband providers streamline the fiber mapping and estimating process, shorten their vetting process, standardizes the sales cycle and reduce the workload of OSP engineers.
Earlier this year I wrote the article “DIY Fiber Mapping” which follows a do-it-yourself (DIY) process using Google My Maps that can help community broadband providers to provide rough cost estimates to customers, or groups of customers, that call up asking when high-speed fiber will reach them – and at what cost.
